About Us

I love candles! And immersing myself in the craft of candle making has provided some unexpected joy in some very unexpected ways. The melting, mixing and pouring has had the most wonderful calming effect, but the exploring of the many fragrances has evoked memories and emotions in a way that has surprised me. Occasionally a scent would take me somewhere ... to my past, to a memorable moment, or to a favorite vacation spot at the beach. The memory might be fleeting, but it would comfort me in that brief moment.  

I have also found that the relaxing nature of making candles has brought about a peace, amidst the chaos of the world, not unlike the peace and tranquility we get from our back yard. My husband and I, known to our grandchildren as Kappy and Paw Paw, find a special kind of peace watching birds in our yard. We have come to love the colorful visitors, and found photographing them an irresistible pleasure. The candles I've created are a reflection of, and combination of, a few of the things that bring joy to my life ... so I hope they bring a little bit of joy to you as well!
